Fair Oaks

|
In some areas of Fair Oaks, you can enjoy privacy and views of deer
and other wild creatures in and around the backyards. Some very expensive
homes overlook the American River. Lovely oak lined streets wind
through the Fair Oaks area. Softly rolling hills make you believe that you
are a thousand miles from any big city. Fair Oaks does; however, have more
middle income neighborhoods and affordable apartment complexes than it
does high end homes. There is a home for everyone here.
Fair Oaks was once a fruit-growing colony and the village area still
maintains its old world charm. The shops include antique stores and
specialty shops. Along with the shops in the village, Fair Oaks is
close to Sunrise Mall and Birdcage Walk, the Folsom Outlets, and is home
to the Pavilion Shopping Center with its high end boutiques and fine
restaurants.
Like the rest of Sacramento County, Fair Oaks is near all the leisure time
activities. Golf courses, both private and public within the community and
nearby, parks with tennis courts or private tennis clubs, The American
River Parkway with miles of biking trails, picnic areas and boat launches,
Folsom Lake, Lake Tahoe for skiing, hiking and fishing, the Delta for
boating and camping, the theaters, and galleries and restaurants in Fair
Oaks as well as Sacramento itself. A lazy day activity that is
enjoyed by many is floating down the American River in a rubber raft to
the Sacramento River.
Fair Oaks is centrally located so there are medical facilities near by.
Elementary, middle and high schools are part of the San Juan Unified
School District. Money Magazine rates this district as one of the best
districts in the U.S.
