Auburn

Just
15 miles east of Rocklin, at an elevation of 1000', Auburn's old town is a
favorite stopping place for those on their way up Highway 80 to Lake
Tahoe. Residents enjoy the Saturday Farmers' Market, exploring shops and
dining on the patios of the many fine restaurants that are available.
There is usually something going on every weekend at the Auburn
Fairgrounds.
Auburn, along with the Greater Auburn Area, has become a favorite bedroom
community for people who like foothill living. It is close enough to
downtown Sacramento to allow a commute to work and even closer to the high
tech facilities in Roseville and Rocklin.
Being
"just above the fog" is one of Auburn's claim to fame. The small town
atmosphere and availability of outdoor recreation is another reason people
like living here. The Auburn State Recreation Area is a wonderful place to
get away from it all. Hiking, biking, and riding trails crisscross the
area. Two forks of the American River come together a short distance from
downtown Auburn and the area has become a favorite place to soak up the
sun on hot summer days. There is a boat launching ramp for Folsom Lake
just down Auburn-Folsom road at Rattlesnake Bar, lots of river rafting
opportunities and of course, the fishing is great. You can be snow skiing
in less than two hours or over the hill to Reno, which is only about 100
miles away, for a show in about the same time.
Homes range from the $150,000 to million dollar custom homes on acreage.
There are homes with wonderful views of downtown Sacramento or the
Marysville Buttes.
Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital and its affiliated physicians provide
residents with full service hospital and medical services.
